Good shepherd

Kids Church @ 9:30 & 11:00 AM

Ages 3 months - 5th grade

Our GS Kids are the heartbeat of Good Shepherd, always having lots of fun and making noise!

All families with children ages 3 months - 5th grade can participate in Kids Church! Simply check in your child at our Check-In station inside the Welcome Center on Sunday morning and then escort them to GS Littles (3 months-TK) or GS Kids (K-5th grade)!

Sunday School lessons are based on four main objectives:

        1)  GET CLOSER TO JESUS by learning a "Jesus Point" that is aligned with Pastor Todd's message.

        2)  PRAY POWERFULLY by praying (usually out loud) for themselves or each other during prayer

        3)  GET TO KNOW THE BIBLE by getting to know the stories of the bible through books and                    other media, and learning how to look up, read, and understand the text of our GS Kids Bibles

             (NIV: Adventure Bible).

        4)  SERVE by doing a service project for our church, community or world.

Ages 3 months - TK (GS Littles) read stories, sing songs, eat snack and build relationships with each other through free play.

Grades K - 5th grade (GS Kids) worship, split up for age-specific instruction and build relationships through games & activities.

cATHLEEN dEMANT, Director of Children's Ministry

Cathleen aims to make Good Shepherd kids feel happy, safe, and loved by Christ, and doesn't mind making a fool of herself to get the kids to laugh (or understand the lesson.)

Cathleen grew up in Sacramento before going off to college at the University of Redlands. She returned to Sacramento to attend McGeorge School of Law, and spent three years as a labor and employment attorney. After spending a year working with the Good Shepherd kids, she felt called to leave her law job and commit her time to Children's Ministry.

Cathleen works closely with her husband Joel, a lifelong Lutheran and Pastor's kid. They enjoy garage sales, fixing up their home, and spending time with their boys, Dane and Levi.
